Professor

Ivanna Devdiuk studied English Philology at the Faculty of Romance and Germanic Philology of Yurii Fedkovych Chernivtsi State University (1979–1984). She was awarded the qualification “Philologist, Lecturer, Translator”.
From 1984 to 1986, she worked as a teacher of English in the Storozhynets District, Chernivtsi Region.
From 1986 to 1997, Devdiuk served as a laboratory assistant and later senior laboratory assistant at the Department of English, Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian University.
From 1994 to 1997 – pursued postgraduate studies at Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian University.
In 1999, Ivanna Devdiuk defended her Candidate of Sciences (PhD-equivalent) dissertation (speciality 10.01.05 – Comparative Literature) entitled “English Literature in the Creative Activity of Panteleymon Kulish” at the Institute of Literature of the Taras Shevchenko National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. In the same year, she was awarded the degree of Candidate of Philological Sciences (PhD).
In 2005, she received the academic title of Associate Professor at the Department of World Literature.
From 2017 to 2019, she completed doctoral studies at the Department of Ukrainian Literature, Foreign Literature and Comparative Literature, Berdyansk State Pedagogical University.
In 2021, Ivanna Devdiuk obtained the degree of Doctor of Philological Sciences from Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv (speciality 10.01.05 – Comparative Literature), having defended her doctoral dissertation entitled “Existential Discourse in Ukrainian and British Prose of the Interwar Period” (defended in 2020); in 2025, she was awarded the academic title of Professor.
Her research interests encompass comparative literary studies, Ukrainian–English literary relations, intertextuality, modernism, and existentialism. Ivanna Devdiuk is the author of one monograph, five teaching guides, and over 40 scholarly articles published in Ukrainian peer-reviewed journals included in the national list of scientific professional publications (Category B), as well as in international journals indexed in Scopus and Web of Science.
She has supervised master’s theses and PhD dissertations since 2004 and regularly serves as an opponent and reviewer for permanent and ad hoc specialized academic councils.
Ivanna Devdiuk is a member of the editorial boards of the peer-reviewed open-access journals Philological Treatises (Sumy State University) and Prykarpathian Bulletin of the Shevchenko Scientific Society. Word (Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University; Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas), both included in the Ukrainian list of scientific professional publications (Category B).
